Green Shift 2.0
The aim of the Green Shift 2.0 financial incentives tool is to help different stakeholder groups to find ways of affording more sustainable outcomes – be it developers embarking on sustainable new build, homeowners considering retrofit, or councils reviewing their council homes. This interface identifies incentives and compliance frameworks (and a measure of their impact) based on outcomes (e.g. higher EPC ratings; lower operating costs etc.).
This is a beta version that is being shared primarily for testing and feedback.
Open the tool using the link below (password-protected), then select the options you are interested in from the drop down list to the right of each green cell. If no results are found, that means we do not yet have any incentives for the options you have selected.
Use ‘Ctr’ and the plus (+) or minus (-) keys to resize the table to fit your screen.
Green Shift 1.0
As part of our Build Net Zero Now campaign Finance working group in October 2023 we launched a report – “The Green Shift – The existing financial incentives for higher environmental performance of new homes”, authored by Rafe Bertram.
The document is an exploration to see if a ‘tipping point’ has been reached, one where existing financial incentives provide high levels of environmental sustainability in a way that are financially advantageous for all stakeholders, and if this route is now the most financially viable option.
